We have a built-in air pump to blow away the smoke during the laser engraving process, so in general, the laser module will not be contaminated. However, if the air pump is turned off frequently, or there is insufficient laser power generated, you can clean the laser head as follows.
-
Turn off the power, and disconnect all the wires and tubes on the back of the machine.
-
Remove the laser beds and the detachable bottom tray. Move the laser head to the right end side.
-
Turn the machine 90 degrees and place it like shown in the picture below.
-
Remove the two screws that secure the lens protective cover, and wipe the lens with a cotton cloth.
-
Wipe the visible dirt on other areas of the module, then install the components back.
-
Place the machine back in place, reconnect the wires and tubes, and turn on the machine.
